A load of new shows announced this - we'll have more tomorrow so stay tuned!

First, My Great Affliction (Myspace) who play an Emma Scott Presents gig on 3rd December Book Now

This is full throttle rock hailing from right here in the West Midlands. There's a fierce growl here, and a rock and roll edge ... well worth checking out as they're getting quite a name around the region!

Also on the bill Signify, Hope Order Truth and Jaccals.

In fact Emma Scott's already booked another show this week - Voodoo Johnson, Liberty Lies, Martyr De Mona & Age. It's all happening at the Slade Rooms 11 Dec Book Now

Birminghams Voodoo Johnson are back with a new album and a fresh batch of their classic rock meets today sound - think Led Zeppelin meets QOTSA! (Myspace)

Onto something a bit more mellow now, but staying local, singer/songwriter Scott Matthews

The Ivor Novello winner will be at the Slade Rooms on 10th December playing songs from his 2 albums, Passing Stranger and Elsewhere. Often compared to Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley and John Martyn, Scott also claims influence from Nick Cave, David Bowie, Bon Iver and The Smashing Pumpkins Book Now

And our final show, for now, is The Rimes, a local alt indie rock who have an impressive collection of tunes on their Myspace right now.

With definite nods towards Arctic Monkeys, and Biffy Clyro, they've been recording for a good part of this month and have some good UK dates set for around the country. The play The Slade Rooms on 5th February 2011 Book Now
